• Potential areas identified for art:  

  • Pool building (concrete walls by basketball court and parking lot)

  • Corner of San Jose & Ocean (along San Jose at the skatepark)

  • Havelock bridge

Last Action(s): 

• Balboa Park has been selected and approved to get a Big Loop Art Scupture. Slated to be installed in early 2027.  Check out the Big Apple installation that's planned.

• June 2026 - Survey results overview about art preferences – 41 responses

• June, 2026 – Fielded survey to community to ask about what kind of art people want

• May, 2026 - Big Loop Art reached out about opportunity to put a piece in Balboa Park

• 2025: Back and forth with Paris Cotz at StreetSmArts about getting art on Balboa Pool by basketball courts – May 2026 said it was not eligible because no graffiti. “Since this wall is not affected by graffiti or vandalism, it is not a preferred candidate for the Streetsmarts program, which focuses on graffiti and vandalism abatement.” (May 28, 2026)
