Dog Park

Balboa Park Dog Play Area is in the quiet northwest corner of the park, by the Havelock Street cul-de-sac. The off-leash park is unfenced and well-maintained, with space for dogs to run in group play as well as a longer ball-throwing turf area. Bring a container to get water from a nearby fountain in the park, and please pick up after your dog. The dog park gets busy daily around lunch time and from 4-6pm. The dogs are friendly and the people are friendlier.

Please note:  Dogs are not allowed on the athletic fields (including the multipurpose field in front of the Pool), as kids regularly use these fields for sports and play and people picnic around the trees. The Dog Play area actually has a long length for dogs to run and fetch balls/frisbees.
