Skatepark awarded a $1.5M grant for Phase 1
The Community Opportunity Fund will fund Phase 1 of the Balboa Skatepark renovation. Work could start as early as fall 2026.
Big news for Balboa Park: the skatepark renovation has been awarded a $1.5M grant from the Community Opportunity Fund for Phase 1.
The current wooden structure is past its life expectancy and dangerous for skaters. The renovation will replace it with modern concrete that lasts longer and costs less to maintain. The start date is still to be determined, hopefully by fall 2026.
